Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) 2021 | Two-years Master's degree

Dear students,

We are pleased to announce that applications for Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) are now open!

QECS is a unique opportunity to study a two-years Master's degree in low or middle-income country of the Commonwealth. It is a fully-funded scholarship through the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) endowment fund. The fund will cover full tuition fees, living stipend, return economy air ticket, arrival allowance and research support grant. QECS provide a life-changing opportunity to experience a new country and culture, to broaden horizons and to build a global network that will last a lifetime.

12 awards are available in ten institutions. To apply for QECS, review the information before completing an online application form. Please note that you have to apply separately for Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship. You can apply for it right after applying for your desired course. Introduction:

Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) is a unique opportunity to study a two-years Master's degree in low or middle-income country of the Commonwealth. It is a fully-funded scholarship through the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) endowment fund. The fund will cover full tuition fees, living stipend, return economy air ticket, arrival allowance and research support grant. The scholarships give talented students – who can be from any Commonwealth country other than the host country – the opportunity to gain a Master's degree while developing new skills and experiencing life in another country.

It is aimed at students who are committed to creating change in their communities. The scholarships provide a life-changing opportunity to experience a new country and culture, to broaden horizons, and to build a global network that will last a lifetime. Through cultural exchange and academic collaboration, Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholars help bring about positive change and find solutions to shared challenges – both in their home countries and those that host them.

Course Level:

2 year Master's degrees in eligible courses at the participating universities

Financial coverage:

Award recipients receive:

  • Fully-funded tuition fees
  • Living expenses allowance (stipend) for duration of award
  • Return economy flights to the host country
  • An arrival allowance
  • Research support grant – on request only; subject to approval

Eligibility criteria:

To apply for the QECS, candidate must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must be a citizen of (or hold refugee status in) a Commonwealth country other than the country hosting the award
  • Must have completed an undergraduate degree at a 2:1 equivalent level
  • Must apply for a QECS award in a country other than their home country
  • There is no upper age limit for a QECS Award
