Semester Exchange Opportunity for MBA Students for Fall 2017

Dear MBA Students,

In continuation of IBA's efforts to provide opportunities of international exposure to our students, we are pleased to share student exchange opportunities for our MBA Class for fall semester 2017!

A brief description of each concerned university is given below for your reference. Students are expected to bear IBA semester fee and all the other expenses including accommodation, airfare, visa and travel insurance expenses, local commutation, books and stationery, etc. during the exchange period. Total cost usually comes around 8 lacs PKR (+/- depending on the location) for an average living.

Please note that you will have to login with your ERP ID to complete the application.

Please note that the complete form shall be received not later than 3pm on Friday, April 28, 2017. Shortlisting will be primarily on merit. If need be, the student(s) may be called for an interview between 3pm and 5pm on Friday, April 28, 2017.

1. Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka (Dhaka, Bangladesh)

2. International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (Dhaka, Bangladesh)
IUBAT - International University of Business Agriculture and Technology is the first non government university established in Bangladesh. The initial planning began in 1989 and the university was established in 1991. Degree programs started in 1992 with agreement with Assumption University of Bangkok, Thailand. IUBAT now operates as a government approved university under the Non Government University Act of 1992.

IUBAT is geared to effectively contribute to agro-economic, technological and social development of Bangladesh. The aim is to promote higher professional education with relevance to those growth areas of the economy which require qualified human resources and create a climate of professionalism and scholasticism to promote further development of the society. It is contended that the fundamental economic problems of the society can be tackled by people through an investment in human resources development and in the process promote self reliance in agro-economic development and higher education.

IUBAT is organized into colleges and centers for academic activities. The management of the University is conducted in line with the provisions of the Non Government University Act of 1992. The highest policy making body is the Board of Governors, chaired by the Founder of IUBAT. The Board of Governors have appropriate representation of the Founder, recognized professional groups in the society, academics as well as other interest groups, alumni, donors and contributors to the educational programs of the university. 4. University of Malaya (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
Universiti Malaya, or UM, Malaysia's oldest university, is situated on a 750 acre (309 hectare) campus in the southwest of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. It was established in April 1949 in Singapore with the merger of the King Edward VII College of Medicine (founded in 1905) and Raffles College (founded in 1928).

The growth of the University was very rapid during the first decade of its establishment and this resulted in the setting up of two autonomous Divisions in 1959, one located in Singapore and the other in Kuala Lumpur. In 1960, the government of the two territories indicated their desire to change the status of the Divisions into that of a national university. Legislation was passed in 1961 and the University of Malaya was established on 1st January 1962.

On June 16th 1962, University of Malaya celebrated the installation of its first Chancellor, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, who was also the country's first prime minister. The first Vice-Chancellor was Professor Oppenheim, a world-renowned Mathematician.

Sabanci University (Istanbul, Turkey)
Established in 1996, Sabanci University is a premium institute of Turkey with an aim to cultivate its existing local and regional comparative advantages to generate, articulate, uncover and develop leading-edge knowledge in order to create competitive competencies within an international and global context.
Currently the university houses 3318 undergraduate and 779 graduate students in a campus that is away from the hectic life of the city, yet offers everything students may need in their everyday lives. Amenities abound from a performing arts center to a sports hall, convenience store, and Movie Theater and exercise areas.

It has 13 undergraduate and 41 graduate programs each offered with a mission to develop internationally competent and confident individuals, enriched with the ability to reflect critically and independently, combined with a strong sense of social responsibility.

Sabancı University has 42 clubs founded and operated by students that gives them an opportunity to develop in an environment that cater to all needs of a successful and active citizen.

Institute of Management Technology (Ghaziabad, India)
Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad was built in 1980 with an aim to be a leading management institution that contributes to the development of business and society through excellence in grooming leadership, entrepreneurial talent and research.

IMT believes that it is imperative to have leaders with a global perspective on economic, technological, cultural and political interfaces with business. Hence IMT grooms its students with this objective into leaders who are adaptable, flexible and sensitive to the cross-cultural context of business. Students are made aware of their social responsibility in all IMT's PGDM programmes.

More so, to give all students a holistic environment, exciting recreational facilities are provided that includes a gymnasium, grounds equipped for cricket, football, volleyball, throwball and basketball. The Amphitheatre is a hub of activity and is used extensively to showcase IMT talent.

IMT Ghaziabad's permanent faculty are all respected professionals who lead executive programmes at IMT and are strongly focused on synthesizing partnerships with global institutes. In keeping with this view, IMT has a uniquely vibrant student exchange programme. It provides students with opportunities to work on joining research and consulting projects with their peers from international institutes.

Bilkent University (Ankara, Turkey)
Bilkent University was founded on October 20, 1984 through the joint resolution of İhsan Doğramacı Education Foundation, İhsan Doğramacı Science and Research Foundation and İhsan Doğramacı Health Foundation. The establishment of this private university was later approved by an act of Parliament. The aim was to create a center of excellence in higher education and research. The name "Bilkent" exemplifies the founder's aim, since it is an acronym of "bilim kenti" in Turkish for "city of science and knowledge."

Currently there are about 13,000 students in 9 faculties and 2 four-year professional schools. Among them are foreign students from different countries. With funds from the endowments provided by the founder, the university each year awards scholarships to 47% of the student body.

To promote the enrichment of teaching and research programs, Bilkent University entered into collaborative projects and exchange programs with many universities abroad. Bilkent has student exchange agreements with universities from countries such as Australia, Japan, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States of America.

Bilkent University ranks 28th in Times Higher Education's 100 Under 50 list of the world's best young universities.

SILC Business School, Shanghai University (Shanghai, China)
SILC Business School was founded in 1994, and is the earliest Sino-foreign cooperative business institute established in China. SILC's foreign partner is the University of Technology, Sydney - in Australia. Since 2010, SILC has been appraised as the top 10 influential Sino-foreign cooperative institutions for consecutive 5 years by third-party media such as Sina and Xinhuanet. In 2014, SILC submitted the EA (Eligibility Application) and won approval from AACSB. So far SILC has completed the first two stages of the accreditation procedure and entered into the third stage of obtaining the official accreditation status.
There are about 3,500 students currently studying at SILC. SILC sets 7 postgraduate courses including two courses awarding Master's degree abroad, 3 key national in-plan undergraduate courses and 2 Ministry of Education (MOE) approved overseas degree courses and overseas diploma courses. The Chinese and Australian parties cooperate to develop a scientific and comprehensive teaching system and decide the syllabus and teaching mode of undergraduate courses.

The number of SILC graduates has reached more than 13,000 and the employment rate is close to 100%. About 30% of SILC graduates have obtained positions in Fortune 500 companies and 10%-20% of them work in Big Four Accounting Firms.
