SUSI Summer Program 2017

Dear students,

We are pleased to share that SUSI Program for Leaders and SUSI Program for Women for Summer 2017 have been been announced.

First, second and third year enrolled undergraduate students are eligible.

Interested students can complete the attached application form and submit it to IslamabadExchanges@state.gov by Tuesday, November 29, 2016. Only emailed applications will be considered for review. While e-mailing the application, kindly use the following format for the subject line: Applicant Name, Name of Institution, city in which you study.

We hope that many more IBA students are selected and participate in this summer program. Please let us know when you are shortlisted.

Introduction:
U.S. mission in Pakistan has announced the Study of the United States Institute (SUSI) for Student Leaders 2017 Program Pakistan. SUSI for student leaders is one of the many summer exchange programs that the U.S. Department of State offers.

The program is for currently enrolled undergraduate students. This five-week Institute on Local, State, and Federal Public Policymaking for Student Leaders from Pakistan will be hosted by the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA in the U.S. The program dates will be from late June to early August 2017. It will bring together 30 Pakistani undergraduate students with up to 15 U.S. students to address issues of public policy and democracy in the United States and comparing U.S. policy with that of Pakistan.

Eligibility:
- Pakistani Citizens
- Between 18 and 25 years of age
- Interested in the topic of local, state, and federal public policymaking
- Good Communication Skills
- Currently enrolled in a college or university with at least one semester of study left upon completion of program
- Committed to return to their home country upon completion of the program

Ineligibility:
- Applicants with a dual US/Pakistan Nationality and US permanent residence
- Those who have a parent, spouse, Fiance who is a US citizen or permanent resident
- Employees of the U.S. mission and their spouse, parent, sibling or Fiance
- Student in the final year of university
