ACU Titular Fellowships

Dear faculty members,

We are pleased to announce the ACU Titular Fellowships. This fellowship is funded by the Association of Commonwealth Universities' Development Fund and aims to support universities through the interchange of people, knowledge, skills and technologies.

IBA is a member of ACU and therefore, our faculty members can avail these fellowships.
- George Weston Limited Fellowship
- Hong Kong Jockey Club Fellowships (inward and outward)
- Jacky McAleer Memorial Fellowship
- Martha Farrell Memorial Fellowship
- Swansea University Fulton Fellowship
- University of Manitoba Fellowship
- University of Oxford Fellowship
- Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales Fellowship

These fellowships are valued up to GBP 5000 (except Martha Farrell Memorial Fellowship and University of Oxford Scholarship).

Interested faculty members can apply for the fellowship by Friday, May 12, 2017 (23:59 BST).

Introduction
ACU Titular Fellowships, funded by the Association of Commonwealth Universities' Development Fund, aim to support universities of the Commonwealth to develop the human resources of their institutions and countries through the interchange of people, knowledge, skills and technologies.

Titular Fellowships are open to the academic and professional staff, or the nominees, of ACU member universities.

Priority subject areas
Fellowships which do not have a specific subject linked to them are tenable in any of the following priority subject areas:
- Education
- Health and related social sciences
- Information technology and management
- STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects
- Sustainable development
- University development and management

The Fellowships
George Weston Limited Fellowship

The fellowship is tenable either at any ACU member university outside the applicant's home country, or in industry, commerce or public service in a Commonwealth country other than the applicant's home country. Those working in universities may hold a fellowship in either another ACU member university abroad or in industry, commerce or public service abroad; but those working in industry, commerce or public service can only hold a fellowship at an ACU member university. It includes the following subject areas:

- Agriculture
- Forestry
- Food science
- Food technology

Hong Kong Jockey Club Fellowships (inward and outward)
Inward fellowship -
Tenable at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Open University of Hong Kong, or The University of Hong Kong.

Outward fellowship - Tenable at any ACU member institution in a country other than Hong Kong.
Both fellowships can be used for either a collaborative academic research visit, or a collaborative fact-finding visit. It includes the following subject areas:

- Education
- Health and related social sciences
- Information technology
- Information management
- STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects
- Sustainable development
- University development and management

Jacky McAleer Memorial Fellowship
The fellowship is tenable either at any ACU member university outside the applicant's home country, or in industry, commerce or public service in a Commonwealth country other than the applicant's home country.

Those working in universities may hold a fellowship in either another ACU member university or industry, commerce or public service abroad; but those working in industry, commerce or public service can only hold a fellowship at an ACU member university.

The fellowship can be used for either a collaborative academic research visit, or a collaborative fact-finding visit. The subject areas consist of Information technology, with priority given to the computerization of record systems or computer-assisted learning.

Martha Farrell Memorial Fellowship
The fellowship offers a one-week training programme hosted by the Martha Farrell Foundation in New Delhi, India. As part of the application, you will need to submit an outline action plan showing how your home institution can address the issue of sexual harassment on campus. The training received will offer practical solutions and advice for the implementation of the plan.

Six months after returning to their institution, the fellow will submit a detailed report showing how the training has enabled them to put their action plan into effect. Travel will take place in September or October 2017. The exact dates will be discussed with the successful applicant.

Value of Fellowship: The Fellow will receive funded return economy travel to New Delhi and accommodation, local travel, and sustenance while undertaking the training. In addition, a grant of up to GBP 1000 can be claimed for research costs and other costs arising from the fellowship.

Swansea University Fulton Fellowship
The fellowship is tenable at Swansea University, UK. The fellowship can be used for either a collaborative academic research visit, or a collaborative fact-finding visit and awardedfor any of the priority subject areas:

- Information management
- STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects
- Sustainable development
- University development and management

University of Manitoba Fellowship
The enable at University of Manitoba, Canada. The fellowship can be used for either a collaborative academic research visit, or a collaborative fact-finding visit.

Awarded for any of the priority subject areas:
- Education
- Health and related social sciences
- Information technology
- Information management
- STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects
- Sustainable development
- University development and management

University of Oxford Fellowship
The University of Oxford Fellowship is administered by Linacre College, Oxford. The fellowship is intended for a member of staff from an ACU member university outside the UK to travel to University of Oxford for a short collaborative research visit. It provides accommodation for up to one month, return transport from the fellow's home country, meals in college when available, and a modest living allowance.

A Department or Faculty of the University of Oxford must nominate the applicant to Linacre College. In order to nominate, the Department/Faculty should submit the following:
- The proposed fellow's CV
- A description of the proposed programme for the visit
- A description of the potential benefit to the recipient's institution or nation
- A letter of support from the Head of Department/Faculty Chair

Nominations should be submitted to Mrs Jo Whitfield by email: jo.whitfield@linacre.ox.ac.uk - the deadline for nominations is Friday 12 May 2017.

Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales Fellowship
The fellowship is tenable either at any ACU member university outside the applicant's home country, or in industry, commerce or public service in a Commonwealth country other than the applicant's home country. Those working in universities may hold a fellowship in another ACU member university or industry, commerce or public service abroad; but those working in industry, commerce or public service can only hold a fellowship at an ACU member university.

The fellowship can be used for either a collaborative academic research visit, or a collaborative fact-finding visit. The subject area for this scholarship is accountancy.
